Laverda file

Laverda's first small-capacity twin, introduced in 1977 as an entry-level machine with an air-cooled, eight-valve 500 cc engine and six-speed gearbox. Road testers liked the handling, brakes and build quality but disliked the buzzy engine, noise and high price against Japanese rivals. It was sold as Alpina or Alpino in Britain and as Zeta in the USA.
